Hollywood’s influence on fashion in North America made the black dress more popular. Back in 1961 Audrey Hepburn’s black dress in the movie breakfast at Tiffany’s took the fashion industry by a storm. The dress which was designed by GIvenchy was described as ultra-feminine and Persian. Recently in 2006 it was auctioned at $923,187.
